Carrickfergus Sailing Club, Rodgers Quay, Carrickfergus,Northern Ireland, BT38 8BE

The MG Day, to be held on Sunday 2nd September 2018 at Carrickfergus Sailing Club, is now almost within touching distance. The extended committee has been working together to set everything in place for the day. Carrickfergus Sailing Club is an ideal venue, catering is available should you feel hungry during the day.

We aim to have around 100 MGs both old and new on display but we would also welcome non MGs and additional parking for these cars will be provided. The prime purpose of the day is to generate funds for The RVH Liver Support Group. As part of the fund raising ideas it has been suggested that we have an Auto Jumble Stall which will be managed by club member Carol Willis, who is also Hon. Secretary of the MGCC Ulster Centre.

The plan has been captured by Mike Dowey on his leaflet which is shown below. Here is an opportunity to donate surplus parts to a good cause. Although primarily an auto jumble Carol will be happy to accept most other items such as old magazines, household ware, etc. A tombola stall manned by Derek Kerr will also be available. If you would like to donate a gift for the tombola please contact either William Best, Mike Dowey, Desie Boyd or Derek Kerr.  A ‘Guess the Name of the Doll’ stall will also be available.

The show will open at 11.00am so all cars need to be in position by 10.00am so do please come along and get parked up as early as possible. An entry form, to give the organisers an indication of number of cars to expect is here.

Fuzz Townshend of Car SOS fame will be attending the event throughout the day and it is planned to have a couple of Q & A sessions in the clubhouse. Stuart Biggerstaff will be there with his Metro 6R4 a very special vehicle. The PSNI Road Safety Traffic Branch will also have on display their Mitsubishi EVO modified to a high spec with no expense spared.

Trade stands including Autoglym, Millers Oils, Ellis Auto parts will be evident with Belfast Dent Repair on hand to offer on the spot dent removal at a special price. The AOVC will also have a stall and no doubt be available to answer any questions relating to latest status on MOT and taxing of vehicles.  Rambo (Ruth & Eamonn Holmes TV Show) is coming with Albert Reid and will be available to have photos taken with you.
