Let me first wish everyone visiting the club website a very Happy New Year and all the best for the coming 2015 season.

The MG Owners’ Club Northern Ireland has a very healthy membership of around 180 members. Each member receives a monthly newsletter giving details of up and coming events. Technical articles from members are also included as are vehicles for sale. The mission of the club is to promote the MG marque in a social and enterprising club.

Why not come along to some of the events mentioned below and see for yourself what we do and how we do it. Membership is a very modest £20.00 for family membership or £15.00 for single membership per year.

MG Owners’ Club NI have big plans for 2015

At our club meeting night on the 26th January 2015 at the Ivanhoe Hotel, Belfast, David McMullan came along to tell his story of a fantastic drive which he and his friend made in 1958 from Scotland to Australia in an MGA. Yes an MGA, he must have been mad. Everyone who attended enjoyed hearing of his exploits.

The MGOC (NI) Annual Charity quiz is being held on Thursday 19th February 2015 in the Ivanhoe Hotel, Belfast commencing at 8.00pm. To date the MGOC (NI) have donated over £50,000 to local charities since the conception of this quiz in 1993. It is hope to have around 12 local car clubs battling it out for the top prize.

Chairman's Welcome Message 2015 - MGOCNI
A warm welcome from Bob Sharpe, MGOCNI Chairman (centre)

We will have two guest speakers at our club meeting night on the 23rd February 2015. Peter McIlvenny from Carole Nash insurance who will tell us all about classic car insurance with them and then we have Fuzz Townsend from SOS Car Restoration programme who will give us an insight into the programme and then lead through a Q&A session. This event is being held in the 45 Masonic Social Club, Park Avenue, Belfast commencing at 8.00pm. Everyone is welcome.

Trips this year are planned to France in May and to the Isle of Man in June.

This year, being the 60th anniversary of the MGA, special events are planned in July and then again, in September with over 20 cars coming over from GB including replicas of the MGA prototypes which raced at Dundrod in the final car race held there.

Lots going on, so why not join us. If you have an MG you know it makes sense. If you haven’t got one come along and we will show you what you are missing.
