MGOCNI: Dealing with Isolation

The MGOC (NI) is committed to following the latest UK Government advice on events and public gatherings pertinent to our member clubs and as such all of our events planned up to and including June have been cancelled. The monthly club meetings have also been cancelled.

However in an attempt to keep members together but apart we have been holding some ‘virtual’ meetings.

On Monday 27th April 2020 we held a club meeting via Zoom with Angus Annan giving his talk on the practicalities of owning Saabs. Twenty five members who joined the meeting enjoyed the presentation and the craic.

Following on from the first attempt on Zoom we then held a ‘Virtual Afternoon Run’ on Sunday 17th May 2020. Sandra Gaw entertained around forty members with her musical talents on the piano whilst Sam Carruthers gave a short slide presentation on the club history over the past 40 years.

A great turnout of member suggesting these virtual meetings are welcomed in this period of isolation.

Next Zoom meeting planned for 25th May 2020 when Richard Gill, a community banker, will give a presentation on current computer banking scams.
